I’m obsessed with Demeter! Have you heard of them?! They have bottled a fragrance for everything. Literally everything. You can buy cologne sprays, bath and body products, diffuser oils, and candles that smell like Play Doh, Dirt, Pizza, New Baby, Paperback, Kitten Fur, Bread, Pipe Tobacco, Waffles, and about a billion more unique scents. But don’t worry, they also have more mainstream favorites like Vanilla Ice Cream, Cherry Blossom, Cucumber, Gardenia, Honeysuckle… gah, I’ll stop listing them now, but I’m on a mission to collect all of them. Not kidding. Go browse all of the fun fragrances they have!
What makes them even more fun is you can blend several fragrances together to create fun combinations. Here are some fun blends that Demeter recommends: Clean Skin + Sunshine, Apple Pie + Vanilla Cake Batter, Mulled Cider + Eggnog, and Baby Powder + Patchouli. They have a blending guide to help you in choosing fragrances for your own blends as well.
Pictured are the recent products that I’ve sampled from Demeter’s Christmas collection. We have:
Atmosphere Diffuser Oil – Christmas Tree: These oils can be used with reed diffusers (included with purchase) and will fill an 8×10 room with scent for 2-4 months. The oils can also be used in a misting oil diffuser. I love using Christmas Tree fragrance products over the holidays since we only use artificial greenery in our holiday decorations. Demeter’s Christmas Tree is a spicy pine fragrance that I found very pleasing, warm, and cozy.
Christmas Bouquet Cologne Spray: Described as a “swirl of holiday flowers” with a base in natural carnations. For those who prefer spicy holiday scents. Though meant to smell mainly of carnation, my sniffer detected an anise/licorice spiciness to this cologne as well.
Christmas in New York Cologne Spray: I was in love with this one before I even sprayed it, just because of the name. Is there anything better than Christmas in New York? This is a creamy, slightly nutty, warm winter fragrance that smells like spicy eggnog, chestnuts, and apple all working together in a nice balance with each other. I’ve already decided I’ll be wearing this fragrance every single day for the remainder of the holiday season, so everyone who is around me regularly better get used to smelling it!
Healtop Natural Wellness Products
This is another company that recently pinged on my radar. Healtop products are free of parabens, SLS, and artificial fragrances. They are 100% cruelty free. Because the products are all 100% natural or very close to it, you only need to use a scant amount of product to reap the benefits, since no “fillers” such as water or other substances have been added to them. Also, as a minor observation, I like that the products are packaged in nice, heavy glass containers. Somehow that makes them feel more substantial, and fun, when using them. I dunno, maybe I’m strange. But anyways, I’ve been using a few of their products over the last month or so and I LOVE them! They would make such a nice gift for someone who is into natural health and beauty.
Healtop Feel Great Night Serum: This serum contains red algae, which prevents early aging of skin. It also contains elements to increase skin elasticity and moisture levels, but I appreciated that the product didn’t leave my skin oily or greasy – it absorbed well when I rubbed it into my face. The ingredients are Grape Seed Oil, Avocado oil, Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil, Astaxanthin, Vitamin E – Tocopheryl Acetate, Lemon oil, Bergamot oil, Lavender oil. After looking through that list, I don’t have to tell you that the serum smells amazing. I found that inhaling the aroma of the lavender was very soothing when using it at night just before climbing into bed. This product has become a nightly part of my skincare routine.
Healtop Feel Great Natural Body Cream: Now that our heater is chugging along on a daily basis, my lovely dry, cracked, and often painful winter skin is starting to make an appearance and I go through thick body and hand creams like nobody’s business. The ingredients in this cream are: Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax, Grape Seed Oil, and Lavender Oil. Much like the night serum, this smells so amazing and just a little bit of the thick cream has great coverage and is very soothing to dry skin.
Healtop Feel Great 100% Natural Vitamin E Supplement: This was my first foray into liquid vitamin supplements. Vitamin E is known as a natural antioxidant and is used to balance cholesterol, slow aging, and has benefits for the hair and skin. The suggested dose is one drop on the tongue up to 5 times a day. It’s easy to take and just makes me feel healthy knowing I’m putting something good into my body.
Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo This is one for my hubby! Aside from the fact that every tea tree oil product I’ve ever tried smells amazing, tea tree shampoo is great for promoting hair growth and slowing hair loss, both things currently important to my 36 years young husband. This shampoo is cruelty free and doesn’t have parabens, GMOs, or gluten. The ingredients are: Aqua, Jojoba Oil, Botanical Keratin, Argan Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, and Rosemary Oil. Mmm… can’t you just smell it? Maple Holistics has a matching conditioner to go along with it, as well as an entire product line of other health and beauty products.
