We love Halloween, but since free time is not easy to come by in these parts, whatever we do has to be quick and dirty. Here’s our home this year:
3 bags of cotton web, 2 rubber spiders, 2 strobe lights (one large, one small), a black light, 2 pumpkin lanterns, 2 plug-in pumpkins (I know, I’m ashamed. Please forgive me.), ripped fabric, and a couple of sets of blinking eyeballs and we’re in business! The whole thing takes about 90 minutes to set up each year, and once the flickering strobes are paired with spooky sounds emanating from the front window, it works. The kids love it, and a few of the younger ones refuse to come up on our porch out of fear! Muwahahaha.
Fast and easy was also the name of the game when it came to our costumes. We needed something readily available, so we decided to pick something cliche and put a little spin on it. I give you.. Redneck Twilight:
Some makeup, spray glitter, flannel, a couple of t-shirts (instant baby bump) and a bloody styrofoam cup (those who have read the 4th book know why I’m carrying that), a set of Billy Bob teeth, and voila!
Our take on the movie cover.
