Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1 8-ounce block cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 16-ounce ball raw pizza dough (see notes)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Spritz a stainless steel skillet with cooking spray and set over medium heat. Cook ground beef and break up into little pieces with spatula.
- Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes more. You want the onion to be slightly softened but still have some crunch to it.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add ketchup and mustard, then stir and taste. Adjust seasonings however desired. Remove from heat.
- Roll out pizza dough into a very thin, large rectangle. Spread a generous amount of cheese on the dough, then top with beef mixture.
- Starting with the long end, roll up dough into a log. Gently stretch and shape the log until it is even thickness throughout. Use a large serrated bread knife to slice into about 20 pinwheels. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle pinwheels with remaining cheese and bake 18-20 minutes or until dough is cooked, lightly golden, and cheese is melted.
Notes
I buy premade pizza dough packaged by the pound at my regular grocery store. Check to see if yours does the same thing!
