This fall puppy chow gets a seasonal upgrade with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and festive fall candies.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1/4 cup (half stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup no-stir natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • Autumn Leaves and Pumpkin Mellowcremes (I used about 2 cups)
  • Additional fall-themed M&Ms, if desired.

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted. Add peanut butter, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined and remove from heat. Let cool 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add Rice Chex cereal. Add chocolate mixture and fold gently until coated, being careful not to crush the cereal.
  3. Add powdered sugar in 3 additions, shaking the bowl to flip the cereal around, until coated (you can also shake cereal and sugar in a large zip top bag)
  4. Add candies and fold to combine.
