    ChocoRite Protein Bars

It's Friday, and time for another review!  Today I'm talking about one of my favorite kinds of product to review here on the blog - protein bars!  I had the opportunity to try some bars and protein powder from ChocoRite and share my thoughts with all of you.  A feature of these products that I appreciate is that they promise a zero glycemic impact, which basically means that consuming these products will not cause a significant spike in your blood sugar, which is great feature for those following a ketogenic or other low-GI diet.  You can find more information regarding nutrition and ingredients on the ChocoRite website so you can determine for yourself if these will fit with your lifestyle.

ChocoRite Salted Caramel Protein Bar Review

ChocoRite Salted Caramel Protein Bar - This bar is the smallest of the ones that I tried with about half the calories and protein of the larger bars.  This is the size that I prefer when using a protein bar as a snack, since it fills me up a bit less and feels less like a full meal replacement.  The salted caramel bar is enrobed in chocolate and was the softest of all of the bars that I tried.  The caramel flavoring was nice but I would have liked a bit more salt.

ChocoRite Butter Pecan Protein Bar Review

ChocoRite Butter Pecan Protein Bar - Butter pecan is one of my favorite flavors.  It is one of my top three ice cream flavors... I love it.  So I was pretty excited about this bar.  My favorite feature of the bar was the generous sprinkling of chopped pecans on the outside.  The nutty flavor was the most prominent with a buttery vanilla sweetness bringing up the rear.

Yellow cake ChocoRite Protein Bar Review

ChocoRite Yellow Cake Protein Bar - Hands down my favorite flavor of the whole bunch.  I've never had a yellow cake flavored protein bar before so when I saw this one my first thought was "Ooh, fun!"  My favorite part were the big ole white chocolate chunks scattered throughout the yellow cake batter flavored base with a hint of almond mingling around in there somewhere.  I'd buy this one again!

ChocoRite Cinnamon Bun Protein Bar Review

ChocoRite Cinnamon Bun Protein Bar - This is a common flavor in most protein bar collections and ChocoRite's version is a worthy addition in the world of cinnamon bun bars.  The cinnamon is prominent and the bar is sweet enough without any weird aftertaste.  Out of all of the varieties I tried, this one felt more like I was treating myself to something naughty, which is a feature I always appreciate!

ChocoRite Cookie Dough Protein Bar Review

ChocoRite Cookie Dough Protein Bar - Another "gotta have it" flavor, because who doesn't love cookie dough?  The flavor here is pretty spot on and it's one that I would buy again, though there are other brands of cookie dough protein bars that are my "go to" that remain my favorites.  ChocoRite's version has a nice cookie dough smell and the chocolate chips are generously sprinkled throughout the bar.

    ChocoRite Cookie Dough Protein Powder

ChocoRite Cookie Dough Protein - This was my favorite ChocoRite product that I tried.  It's a great tasting protein powder!  One two-scoop serving gives you 150 calories and 24g of protein.  I don't typically drink protein powders straight up (meaning mixed together with only water or milk) so I tried this in one of my usual smoothies using some combination of frozen fruit (strawberries and bananas), peanut butter powder, or pumpkin.  Matt and I both loved this stuff and we went through the whole bag quickly.  After seeing all of the other fun flavors available we will definitely add this brand into our protein rotation and I fully recommend it.

Overall Thoughts: ChocoRite has some great protein bars with fun flavors and nutritional profiles that fit my needs when looking for a protein bar or protein powder.  I enjoyed each flavor that I tried and thought they had a great taste, though one drawback I feel the need to mention is that I found the texture of each bar to be tougher than I prefer.  I ended up popping a few of them into the microwave for a few seconds to soften them up before eating them, which is a trick I've used often with protein bars.  Taking a peek at other online reviews for these products, the firmness isn't something I see mentioned very often so it could be that something was different with the batch I received.  The flavors of the bars are enough to not make me shy away from ChocoRite in the future, and I have zero gripes about the protein powder - it's awesome.

Visit the ChocoRite website to order directly or find out where you can find these products in a store near you.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!!

We received a sampling of ChocoRite products to share with all of you, though receiving product does not guarantee that we will post a fully positive review - we will always be honest with you!
