I can't believe it's been over 2 months since my last post. I think the last time I had a posting hiatus this long was back when I was struck down with all-day sickness during my pregnancies.
So, where have I been?
A combination of pandemic isolation and a spring and summer of cancelled RV adventures caused us to lose all sanity. At least, that's the excuse we've been telling ourselves.
Near the end of the stricter lockdown phases of COVID-19's occupation we decided to sell the home we've lived in for the last 14 years and buy a fixer upper in one of our favorite neighborhoods.
We're currently in the middle of a massive whole-house renovation - the biggest project we have ever taken on.
Ever the blogger, though, the goings on in our lives were just ripe for a focused niche blog documenting the whole process, so I'd like to introduce you to:
Mending Myrtle | A Contemporary Home Remodel - www.mendingmyrtle.com
Yup, that's Myrtle up there, our 1979 contemporary fixer-upper. Head on over to the new blog to read all about Myrtle's story and how far we've come in the process where we had to get our own construction supplies like welding helmets and other updates such as getting it a roof replacement.
We also get and hire the top companies for support of our construction needs like residential plastering and etc. Make sure to subscribe for email updates over there to follow along on this crazy adventure!
But what about Brownie Bites?
This blog is not going anywhere! The travel posts will be few and far between due to ongoing COVID restrictions and recipe posts will be less often as we are currently living in a camper with our 2 kids, the kitchen at the new house is nothing but studs and spray foam insulation, and meals that are little more than heat 'n serve have been our go-to for many weeks now.
But I'm still making notes every time I get some recipe inspiration, and I've even challenged myself to create and photograph a new dessert prepared and photographed in the camper using limited equipment. Stay tuned for that one - it'll be posted early next week!
So, that's everything that's been going on over here! Thank you to those who stick with us during this time of limited posting. And for those interested in following along our renovation journey, I'll see you over at Mending Myrtle!
