The viral breakfast hack that's been crazy popular on TikTok! By adding some additional ingredients, these doctored up Tik Tok cinnamon rolls will have you never thinking about canned cinnamon rolls the same way again!
What is The Tik Tok Cinnamon Rolls Trend?
Short form videos of this hack have been popping up across TikTok as well as other social media platforms. The premise is simple: you take a can of jumbo cinnamon rolls and place them into a pan with a bit of heavy cream (drooling yet?) Then you add an extra layer of buttery cinnamon and brown sugar, cover, and bake until golden and delicious. The included icing pack is extended using additional butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar. The warm rolls are absolutely slathered in this extra icing and the result is a seriously rich and ooey gooey breakfast treat.
The best part? This is a health food!
No, no it isn't. Not even close. These rolls are not for the faint of heart.
What Kind Of Cinnamon Rolls Do You Use?
This recipe works best with jumbo sized canned cinnamon rolls. You can use any brand you want. I used Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls, but you can also use a store brand like Kroger or Trader Joe's, or an organic brand like Annie's
List of Ingredients
Here's what you'll need to gather together to try Tik Tok Cinnamon Rolls on your own:
- 1 can jumbo cinnamon rolls (the kind that has 5 giant rolls)
- Ground cinnamon
- Light Brown Sugar
- Butter
- Cream Cheese (just a little bit... a quarter of a standard 8-ounce block)
- Powdered Sugar
- Heavy Cream

List of Equipment
You don't need anything fancy schmancy to create this recipe, but here's an overview of the tools and equipment you'll need to execute your Tik Tok Cinnamon Rolls perfectly.
What Do These Taste Like?
While some social media food trends and challenges may not be such a good idea (I'm looking at you, Tide Pods and Nyquil chicken...) this one is a bit more reasonable. And so worth it.
Have you ever made canned cinnamon rolls only to have the outer edges be kind of dried out and crusty? These... won't do that. Adding heavy cream to the pan, covering, and baking at a slightly lower temperature results in a roll that is tender and perfect from the inside of the swirl (always the best part) all the way out to the edge. TikTok user @megan.hays.reid described them as such: every bite tastes like the middle.
Well, sign me up for that!
After this trend absolutely exploded, others have chimed in with their own descriptions. Most agree that the doctored up buns taste almost exactly like Cinnabon with the extra rich rolls and slathering of luxurious doctored up frosting.
One thing is for sure, after trying Tik Tok Cinnamon Rolls for yourself, you'll never look at canned cinnamon rolls the same way again. And you'll never want to make them straight out of the can again!
Fun Variations
While this recipe is pretty awesome just how it is, try these twists to mix things up a bit!
- Add a handful of chopped pecans to the cinnamon and brown sugar paste for a nutty crunch.
- Drizzle some caramel sauce on top of the frosting if you really like things rich.
- Add ¼ teaspoon orange extract to the frosting mixture for some light citrus notes.
Storage and Reheating Instructions
If you end up having any leftover cinnamon rolls, keep them in the refrigerator tightly covered or in an airtight container. To reheat, place a cinnamon roll onto a microwave-safe plate and microwave in 10-second increments until just warm. Avoid heating for too long or the frosting will liquify and lose its texture. Try cutting the cinnamon roll in half or thirds to help it heat in less time.
Freezing is not recommended for either the uncooked or cooked and frosted cinnamon rolls. While it would be safe to do so, both the canned dough and the cream cheese frosting are susceptible to freezer burn and the texture of the thawed rolls won't be as good as making them fresh. Luckily this is such a fast and easy recipe, there's no need for freezing!
Doubling The Recipe
As written, this recipe makes 5 large Tik Tok cinnamon rolls. If you would like to make more, you can double the recipe and bake them in a 9x13 pan. Follow the rest of the recipe as written, same bake temperature and cook time.

I have made these a couple of times now & everyone loves them. So tasty & easy. I used regular sized cinnamon rolls because that’s what I had on hand. Thank you!

This was absolutely delicious!! I used a regular can of 8 rolls and a can of 5 Grands. Used the feature to double the recipe and used a 9 X 13 pan. I had to cook an extra ten minutes and then uncovered about 5 minutes. I’ll be making these again!

I baked uncovered & used slightly less cream - they were perfectly delicious! Apparently my daughter has never had a Cinnabon - I told her they are almost as good as these.

Turned out great! Thanks for the recipe!

Have had in the oven for 40 minutes and it is still a soft gooey mess. Not sure why, I followed the directions exactly.

So I made this rather late for dessert and we didn't finish them. What's the best way to store them? Should they be refrigerated?
Erin
Yup! Cover and refrigerate.

The MIC test is relatively straightforward to prepare for and execute, which naturally enhances reproducibility. The MIC test can be done on a very small scale without using too many antimicrobial agents. This is important for experimental antimicrobials, such as biologically synthesized antimicrobial peptides. The MIC test is an easy way to test the antimicrobial attributes of a formulation across many different parameters, such as across microbial species or surfactant blends. Because little preparation is required for the minimum inhibitory concentration testing, test turnaround times can be kept low. Get more information mic test for android

What kind of pan can I use if I don’t have a round cake pan?
Erin
Hey there! You can use an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan or any small-ish pan of similar size that has raised sides so that the cream doesn't seep out. Hope this helps!
