Yeah, I admit I'm a little obsessed with this subscription box now, considering this is our third time reviewing this box! Jasper is having so much fun with them that when Terry, the owner and creator of Gramma in a Box, asked if I wanted to give the November box a whirl, I of course said yes!!
As a little recap if you haven't seen my other posts:
Each themed Gramma in a Box contains everything you need for decorating cookies and creating 2 candy crafts. The box contains the already-baked cookies as well as pre-measured portions of all of the decorating supplies. Easy to follow instructions for each craft are included on colorful cards.
November's theme was fall/Thanksgiving!
The first project was chocolate acorn kisses using Hershey kisses, melting chocolate, chocolate chips, and mini vanilla wafers
I separated each of the ingredients so that Jasper could clearly see which step he was on. He did a really good job and this was an easy project that worked out great for his age.
The second project was cute little turkeys made of pretzels, candy corn, candy eyes, candy-coated sunflower seeds, all "glued" together using the remainder of the melting chocolate from project one.
This project was a little trickier as the candy corn wanted to break in little preschooler hands, but it wasn't too much of an issue since the chocolate could be used to "repair" the candy corn. Jasper LOVED the "googly" eyes!
Consistent with every Gramma in a Box, the third project was themed cookie decorating. This time we had fall-colored frosting, sprinkles, and 3 cookie shapes - turkeys, acorns, and fall leaves.
Jasper is becoming quite the sprinkle connoisseur after all of these cookie projects!
The three projects took about an hour to complete and when we were finished we had a plate full of festive goodies! I think Jasper did such a good job with his creations - what do you think?
As always, my favorite part about this box is that there's very little prep time and the clean-up is SO easy. It barely makes a mess at all and Jasper gets to do three different projects all at once. If I tried to put together these projects on my own for a single afternoon, I'd be looking at hours of prep time, not to mention the extra shopping.
Yeah, I really, really love this box!! Can you tell??
We're learning all kinds of fun new Thanksgiving terms to get Jasper (and Shelby, though she's still a little too young for the crafts!) in the spirit and the November Gramma in a Box was a great way to help me with some easy teaching moments.
